I have been silent about our adoption. Sharing your life, as a blogger, is often tricky and sometimes scary.
It's easier to offer printables.
It's funnier to talk about parenting. And more fun to share homeschooling ideas.
But opening a window into your home, so others can have a peek . . . it can be a bit uncomfortable.
And it's even harder to be vunerable and honest about something big. What if people don't understand? Will things be misconstrued? Will people judge? Maybe and probably.
But many of you have invested: You've prayed for us. You've encouraged us. You've supported our fundraisers.
I want to give you an update.
Let's just rip the band-aid off and do bad news first.
On July 8, our adoption agency informed us that ICBF (children's welfare) in Colombia decided to deny our application and dossier.
Not really something I was eager to announce to the entire world. How many people do you know who have been denied to adopt? If you are wondering about ICBF's reasoning, you can go back and read this post I wrote while waiting.
But this is not where our story ends.
A good news post is coming. A story of faithfulness, hope, and redemption; one where I learn to inhale grace and exhale praise. Amen.
