Roxaboxen Co-op

March 2, 2009 by Ami Leave a Comment

Today we had our Roxaboxen Co-op.  The writer captured the wonder and imagination of  children who played in the pretend town of Roxaboxen many years ago and wrapped it up in story form for all of us to enjoy.    It is a timeless tale, and I’m not surprised at all that it was chosen for Five in a Row Volume IV.

Here is the STUFF we compiled for Roxaboxen (actually, I heard one of the children calling our town Boxaboxen which would be more accurate).

We had a bakery, a general store, an ice cream parlor, someone selling horses, a horse stable (where horses could be groomed and stay the night), a sheriff, a movie theater, and lots of kids driving around with their paper plate steering wheels.  They played for almost three hours before we finally told them it was time to pack up.   Many of us are now inspired to build roxaboxens in our yards (out of something more than cardboard!).  Elijah already has his design down on paper for Jason to look at tonight when he gets home.   How exciting!
