LEGO Learning

Learning with LEGO: lapbooks, unit studies, and other activities from Walking by the Way

My boys love LEGO, and when they were young I easily entice them to participate in LEGO school. We used Duplo and LEGO for various educational activities through the years. I’ve included some in the list below.

LEGO School Ideas

Counting with LEGO and Play-doh (preschool – kindergarten)

LEGO Unit Study and Lapbook (elementary)

LEGO Lapbook (our study in action)

LEGO Kindergarten KitĀ (preschool – kindergarten)

LEGO Building Club (co-op class)

I saw on your site somewhere about a prgram you used to make your lego instructions with the numbers on it. Can you please tell me again – can’t find it on here anymore.

    Hi Nancy,

Do you think it might be the LEGO Digital Designer?

I’m not sure what else it could be. Hope that helps! šŸ™‚ Ami

We used a spiral notebook. I’d say two folders. šŸ™‚

Lego digital designer is correct. You build a model then click on building instructions and click on HID or something in the corner and click print I think and I think you can get your model sent to you but you have to be online to do that and you can move the brick around with arrow keys so it is sort of like minecraft!

This was so cool! You asked that we not hotlink to the Lego link directly, so I shared a link to your blog on Facebook.  If you prefer that I not do that, please shoot me an email & I'll remove it.  I'm a "Jesus Freak," too, and while I found your blog because of the Legos, I was so excited to see you love our Lord.  What a creative person you are.

we are using your unit to celebrate the week before my 6 yr olds birthday and he and his 2 yr old brother are loving it.  I just wanted to let you know that we found this animated story that fits perfect with your unit and wanted to let you know.  Will be posting about our use of your unit soon.
