Would you like a cup of tea?

We started our tea-time tradition last Wednesday followed by our second round this week. Elijah was so excited. He handed me this note in the early morning (a subtle hint):

We had Apple Cake and Vanilla Chai for our tummies and fed our minds with Here’s a Little Poem.

Tea-time lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. Both boys want me to keep reading poetry! This week we had a simple snack of apples and peanut butter caramel dip with Hot Cocoa (by request). I read from Now We are Six. Simon screamed when I stopped reading. I guess he enjoys Pooh Poetry. What a nice break in our week. Just a time to sit and share together and eat a yummy snack that wouldn’t otherwise be served. I like having tea-time just once a week to give us something to really look forward to doing together. If you have boys, and you think tea-time would NEVER go over. Well, let me tell you, it WILL. What child can resist a sweet treat topped with mom’s undivided attention? Try tea time. You won’t be sorry.

What an awesome picture! The steam rising and the cake makes me just want to BE there!

You are making some awesome memories!
