Waiting for Something to Hatch

April 18, 2013 by Ami 6 Comments

Charlotte's Web was our last read aloud book.

I expect a good book to be a lot of things, but I didn't expect a little quote to choke me as I was reading: "Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen or hatch."

A rich and steady time.

I am waiting on something to happen. And I am waiting on something to hatch. And I had convinced myself that this time of waiting was all wild and wobbly.

But it can be rich, and it can be steady if I rest in the One who has planned it–if I wait on the One who is sovereign over all.

Thank you, Lord, for the wait. Thank you for the renewal during the wait. Please let me allow this time to be rich and steady. Amen.

Filed Under: just read it, thinking out loud

Even in the waiting we must press on. Have you heard the song “While I’m Waiting” by John Waller? I’m waiting. I’m hopeful. It is painful but patiently I will wait. I will move ahead bold and confident while I’m waiting. I will worship while I’m waiting.

    Hi Ami,
Just wanted to let you know that I have been praying for you during your adoption time. :). Your 3 new boys are going to be lucky to have you adopt them. I also wanted to drop you a note about another blog I read, Large Families on Purpose (http://www.largefamiliesonpurpose.com). Although I know you don’t need help with breast feeding :), there are several posts about organizing a small house for lots of kids, and schedules. There are 9 kids in a 1000 sq ft house. Even though I only have 4 in a 1500 sq ft house I found her to be very helpful. 🙂 Good luck, and keep us posted!!

Love this post and as we too are in a season of “waiting for something to hatch” this song has been ministering to me…I think you will love it…

Read this today and thought of you, “Until God opens the next door for you, praise Him in the hallway.” 🙂
