Circus Sentences for Handwriting Practice

December 8, 2021 by ami Leave a Comment

Gather under the big top for amazing sights, sounds, and smells. Your kids will love practicing handwriting with these Circus Sentences.

What’s Included in the Circus Sentences Copywork?

This printable file includes five pages of copywork for your student.

Each page has one circus sentence for your student to copy. The sentences focus on the five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.

Sentences your student will copy:

  • I see a funny dog.
  • I taste pink cotton candy.
  • I smell butter on popcorn.
  • I hear loud music.
  • I touch a balloon. Pop!

This set of copywork has two versions.

You can print the full color version or the black and white version.

Print the color version if you want to laminate and reuse the pages. Print the black and white version if you want your student to be able to color the images.

How to Use the Circus Sentences for Handwriting Practice

  1. Choose the version you want to print (full color or black and white).
  2. Print the pages.
  3. Ask your student to read the sentence.
  4. Trace the outline.
  5. Trace the dotted words.
  6. Write the sentence on the lines provided.

Depending on your student’s stamina and ability, you can use one page every day or one page every three days (Day 1: Trace the outline. Day 2: Trace the dotted lines. Day 3: Write the sentence on the lines provided.).

When your student finishes the entire set of Circus Sentences, consider binding the pages together or adding them to a folder. Your student will be proud of her finished work!
