Who was Andrew Lang?
What did he do?
He is famous {at least in our home} for his fairy books:
adventure
knights
thieves
dragons
princesses
magicians
imagination
–these are the fairy books filled with tales compiled by Andrew Lang. My boys enjoy these stories which include a little more, um, violence and gore than the fluffy tales most books tell. And, despite the big boy appeal, these books are filled with lessons in truth, goodness, hope, honesty, and beauty. These stories take us to a place where good triumphs over evil and are worth reading and discussing.
To celebrate Lang's birthday, I'm offering a few printables to use with his books.
Elijah insisted that I add this disclaimer: I've allowed my children to enjoy Lang's fairy stories with just a simple discussion or narration, and I would encourage you to do something similar. Please use the notebooking pages for a special project or a once-in-awhile activity but not for every single story.
