China Unit & Notebook

October 15, 2009 by Ami 9 Comments

We started our study with The Story About Ping.   We added in a Learn About China Kit, a co-op field trip to P.F. Chang’s, and bits & pieces from the Ancient Civilizations History Pocket.   We ended up with a boy who couldn’t wait to learn about China each day!

Very, very neat – all of it. I love how colorful and fun it looks. I also like the notebook you are using – did you make that?

I love the notebook you are using. Did you just bind together some card stock or do you buy blank ones already made?

    Hey ladies,

I did not make the notebook. I am so (SO) tempted to by a ProClick binding machine, but I just can’t get myself to shell out the money.

I buy the spiral bound bare books at http://www.barebooks.com; they have discontinued many of their sizes, though, so I’m not sure what the future will hold for the spiral bound bare books. I was thinking I should really stock up just in case. They are $2.25 each for a 24 page book. The paper is really sturdy. We used these books many times last year and they are all holding up well. šŸ™‚

    hth,

I have just started homeschooling my 4 yo son using the FIAR method. I came across your website while doing some research and have really enjoyed your blog and seeing what you’ve done with your sons’ lapbooks. We are getting ready to do “Ping” and I noticed you have lots of great resources. We share alot of the same ideas about homeschooling. Our family just moved to a new city and I am trying to connect with other FIAR/CM style homeschooling families and/or Co-ops but it is taking some time. It has been refreshing to see your blog. Thanks for sharing!

I was wondering where you got the china learning kit from? This looks like a fun lapbook and unit and it will be something my grandson will be doing when we read Ping the Duck. I love the resources you shared and ideas. Thanks!!!!

Hello, I just found your web-site and loved the China lapbook. Do you have the lapbook template available for purchase? Also, how can I subscribe to your site?
