Government Copywork Quotes

March 23, 2020 by ami Leave a Comment

Are you gearing up for a study of US Presidents or an elections study? Consider using copywork quotes as part of your student’s course.

I had the privilege of facilitating a government class about four years ago. I was browsing through some old files and found these simple copywork pages. (Download the link below)

You can use the pages in a few different ways.

  1. Use them as is: simply copy the quotes.
  2. Use them as discussion starters.
  3. Use them to reinforce the principles of the US Constitution.

Government Discussion Starters

Have your junior high or high school student copy the quotes and use them as discussion starters.

Choose one quote. Does your student agree or disagree with it? Why? Discuss your own thoughts as well.

How has history demonstrated the truth or error of the quote?

Principles of the US Constitution

You can also use the quotes to understand and apply the principles of the US Constitution.

When I taught the government class, I made a simple PowerPoint to discuss the principles of the US Constitution. You can download the slides (as a pdf) below.

What does each of these principles mean?

Are any of the principles relayed in the copywork quotes? Which principles are represented in the quotes?

What have you added to your government study? Drop a message in the comments!
