What’s Included in the Halloween Drawing Prompts?
This printable pack of Halloween Drawing Prompts includes five backgrounds:

Just like with writing, it can be hard to stare at a blank piece of paper. The backgrounds will spark ideas, but you may need a little bit more.

How to Play the Roll to Draw Halloween Game
If you want to turn this Halloween drawing activity into a game, you will need the following:
- One drawing prompt background
- One dice
- Two pencils
Alternatively, if you want to reuse the board, you could put the background page into a dry erase pocket and use dry erase markers.
You can use these rules to play the game, or you can invent your own rules.
The first player rolls the dice. The number indicates the number of strokes the player gets to put on the paper. A stroke counts as one line (the pencil not being picked up).
The first player will probably have to stop before the intended object is drawn. This is where it gets fun.
The next player rolls the dice. The second player can choose to add to the previous player’s drawing (possibly taking it in a different direction!), or the player can start a new object.
The Roll to Draw Halloween game is a fantastic and fun exercise in flexibility.
As with any collaborative project, this can get tricky and frustrating or even silly; you may want to be prepared to chat with your student about the emotions that can come from having to switch gears.
Players decide together when to finish the game.
